Whitby Recreation Programs are a great way to enjoy your community. Some are free, and some have a fee, but this list is worth checking out. Creative and artistic programs are offered through the Station Gallery, plus recreation programs available at the many community centres will keep you engaged physically and mentally.
The Abilities Centre, located at 1 Jim Flaherty St, Whitby, ON L1N 0J2 is a fantastic community complex dedicated to making our communities more accessible and inclusive. They offer a wide range of programs and services in their community hub, lead research and advocacy on inclusion issues, and develop scalable frameworks for programs to meet the needs of individuals and communities in the Durham Region and across Canada. We are fortunate to have this centre in our community.
Whitby Farmers Market: Runs from May to October, 9 am to 3 pm on Wednesdays at the Whitby Public Library and at Municipal Lot 9 at 3 Vipond Road in Brooklin on Saturdays from June to October, 9 am to 2 pm. Buy farm fresh fruits, veggies, local honey, handmade crafts, and more. Check out their Instagram page for more information on vendors and seasonal pop-up markets.
