Canada Day is around the corner, and there are a lot of family-friendly community celebrations that you can take part in. We have compiled a list of some of the events taking place on July 1st in the Durham West communities—everything from Live Music to midways and markets, and, of course, Fireworks displays.

Pickering Canada Day Celebrations:  Tuesday, July 1st from 12 pm - 5 pm.   Esplanade Park - 1 The Esplanade, Pickering, ON L1V 6K7

Join the City of Pickering to celebrate Canada Day. A celebration, featuring exciting activities, live entertainment, delicious food vendors, and engaging community group activations.

Tuesday, July 1st from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm.  Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park -  705 Sandy Beach Rd, Pickering, ON L1W 3X5

Then, continue celebrations at the annual Canada Day Concert in Kinsmen Park. Enjoy live music on the big stage, food trucks, fireworks, and a host of fun activities for all ages.

The mainstage performances kick off at 7:00 pm and don’t stop until the fireworks finale at 10:00 pm! Join Tex Rexman, Echo, and Kelsi Mayne for a Canada Day celebration that will keep you on your feet all night long.

Ajax Canada Day Celebrations: Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Ajax Downs - 50 Alexander’s Crossing, Ajax, ON L1Z 2E6 for Canada Day presented by Ajax Downs Racetrack.

From 2-10 p.m., enjoy a variety of activities including cultural performances, children’s games and activities, interactive experiences, live entertainment, community booths & marketplace, sensory zone, food vendors, beer vendors and a special fireworks finale at 10 p.m.  Visit the Town of Ajax Website for the full Canada Day Schedule.

Whitby Canada Day Fireworks: Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Victoria Fields in Whitby - 345 Watson Street West, Whitby, ON. 

Due to the ongoing harbour cleanup affecting Victoria Fields, the 2025 Canada Day celebrations in Whitby will feature fireworks only. 

What to Expect: Pre-fireworks - Arrive early with your family and friends to secure the perfect viewing spot.  Enjoy a variety of food trucks on-site or visit local restaurants.

Don’t forget to bring blankets, games and chairs to relax and celebrate your Canadian pride with family and friends.

Oshawa Canada Day Festivities: Tuesday, July 1st from 2 pm - 10 pm.  Lakeview Park - 55 Lakeview Park Ave. 

Free Family Entertainment & Activities throughout Lakeview Park, Something for everyone from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Live Music, Midway, & Fireworks at Dusk. Visit the Oshawa Canada Day Festivities website to view the full schedule and other important Information. 

Canada Day in Clarington: Tuesday, July 1, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, located at 2440 Highway 2 in Bowmanville.

Celebrate Canada Day with an evening packed with entertainment, activities, and good times with friends and family. Then, end the night with a bang—fireworks light up the sky at 10 p.m.
